Bio
Andrés has performed in Europe and Latin America in countries such as Austria, Argentina Colombia, Belgium, Hungary, England, Norway, Portugal and Spain, at important venues including as the Wigmore Hall in London, Grand Salle du Conservatoire du Bruxelles, the National Music Auditorium in Madrid, the Palau de la Música Catalana, the Theater Real de Madrid, the Palau de la Música de Valencia, the National Museum of Colombia,the Konserthus of Stavanger, the Auditorium “Ciudad de León”, the Monumental Theater, the Palace of Festivals of Santander, the Wiener Saal of the Universität Mozarteum de Salzburg, Theater of the Liberator of Córdoba (Argentina) and the Jorge Luis Borges Auditorium of Buenos Aires among many others.
He has been awarded with the Review’s Prize and the Second Prize in the “Primer Palau”Award (Barcelona) First Prize at the Ecoparque Transmiera International Chamber Music Competiton (Santander), the Second Prize and Prize for the best performance of a Spanish work in the Antón García International Chamber Music Competition, First Prize in the Piano Meeting of Ourense (Galicia), the Honorable Mention in the Alcobaça International Chamber Music Competition, third prize at the Paderewski International Piano Competition of USA and he has been finalist in the ParkHouse Award in London with the Ramales Trio.
He has also performed alongside variety of orchestras such as the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra, World Youth Day Orchestra, the Reina Sofía School Symphony Orchestra, the Santa Cecilia Orchestra, the Royal College of Music Contucting Podium Orchestra and the Amaniel Symphony Orchestra along with directors such as Juanjo Mena, Francisco Valero and Avi Taler
The search for the best influences to complete his training has pushed him to attend numerous advanced courses over the years, receiving training from prestigious teachers, among which include Dimitri Alexeev, Luis Fernando Pérez, Claudio Martínez-Menher, Blanca Uribe, Daniel del Pino, Bruno Leonardo Gelber, Alan Weiss, Joaquín Soriano, Ralf Gothoni, and Naum Grubert.
As a result of his efforts in the field of his education, he has been designated by the Claustro de profesores de la Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía, as the most outstanding student during the 2014-2015 academic year.
He has performed at Festivals such as the Stamford International Chamber Music Competition, Torroella de Montgrí Music Festival, Unusual Week of the Music of Santander, Madrid International Sacred Art Festival, “The First Palau” Season, at the Madrid International Festival of Contemporary Music and the Festival, “Classics in Summer” of the Community of Madrid or at the Cycle of Musicians of the World of León, Sierra Musical Season. In addition, in 2016 he carried out a concert tour in Spain organised by the Association of Interpreters and Performers (AIE) with the Ramales trio.
In October 2019 he gave a concert tour in Argentina, which led him to play in Córdoba and Buenos Aires in homage to Manuel de Falla on the 80th anniversary of his arrival in Argentina. This tour was collaboration with Acción Cultural Española (AC / E), the Fundación Pro Arte Córdoba and the Spanish International Agency for the Development and the Cooperation (AECID) and the Center for Piano Studies. (CEP).
Born in Madrid, Andrés Navarro began his musical studies at the Amaniel Professional Conservatory where he obtained a Final Degree Award studying with Mercedes Lecea and Teresa Naranjo. Subsequently, he entered the Madrid Royal Conservatory where he studied with Ana Guijarro. In 2012 he entered the Reina Sofía School of Music where he continued his training with Professor Galina Eguiazarova, having been designated the most outstanding student of his department, and studied Chamber Music with Marta Gulyás and Luis Fernando Pérez. He finished a master’s degree of performance with Distinction at the Royal College of Music in London under the tutelage of professor Norma Fisher and he is currently studying a master soliste at the the Haute École de Musique de Genève with Nelson Goerner.
He has received numerous Scholarships such as the Juventudes Musicales de Madrid Scholarship, Mutua Madrileña Fundation Scholarship, AIE Scholarship and the Madrid Education deparment Scholarship. Albéniz, the AIE and the Consejería de Educación de la Comunidad de Madrid.
